Oresme’s main activity is to provide fair services to students. More precisely, it aims at helping students to take care of their trainings’ logistics. For that purpose, Oresme offers three main services the first one is dedicated to help students to find an accommodation by displaying advertisements only placed by private individuals, the second one is a contact service which is aimed at putting students in touch on their training place, and the third one is an information service on towns/cities and districts where students live.

The housing help service :

Its role is to put students in touch with furnished flat owners, that is to say landlords. Oresme is not a property agency. Thus, it does not hand over the keys, nor make the inventory and statement of state of repair, nor establish tenancy agreements, and generally does not intervene in the settlements between students and landlords, either in the administrative or financial terms. Oresme only offers a free guarantee to put students in touch with landlords. Oresme ensures the advertising of a range of furnished flats placed by private owners. The accommodations are qualified and rated (1 to 5 stars) according to the criteria established in the Oresme Quality Charter in accordance with the landlords, in order to make the search for students easier.

The landlords :
The landlords vouch for their private individual status. They guarantee the accuracy of their identity and of the provided descriptions of the accommodations. By signing the Oresme Trust Charter they also commit themselves to respect the housing conditions offered to students, otherwise Oresme reserves the right to not display their advertisements. The landlords also commit themselves to keep up to date the vacancies calendar, either directly on the Oresme website, or by phone (48 hours before any modification is made). Oresme could not be held responsible for the lack of advertisements’ updating on the website if landlords do not meet the deadlines or if they do not ever modify their advertisements. Oresme could not be held responsible for the content of the advertisements for which the landlords sole responsibility is committed. Any dispute concerning a mistake in landlord’s information should be sent to Oresme within 8 days with effect of its display online. Failing that the ad will be considered as validated by the landlord. For each student stay, the landlord commits himself to send back to Oresme the satisfaction survey in order to enable the other landlords to benefit from his testimonial.
In accordance with its fair approach, Oresme will not accept any advertisement from property professionals letting or managing a property for somebody else, such as estate agents, booking offices and/or any other merchant middlemen (except students homes and/or establishments dedicated in welcoming young people, and on special conditions -please contact us-).


The trainees :
To have access to the ads displayed by Oresme, students must prove that they are on a higher education training course and have a training agreement with a company/institute, establishing a period of time and a place of training, and which justifies the accommodation search during this period. Students also have to commit themselves to respect the housing conditions offered by the landlords by signing the Trust Charter and sending back to Oresme the satisfaction survey at the end of the stay, in order to enable the other trainees to benefit from their testimonial. The Oresme student trainees can also display their own accommodation offer : They can use for free the landlord registration form by mentioning in the field “special feature” the words “ORESME STUDENT MEMBER’S OFFER” and by using the e-mail address given for their registration as a student. Their ad, being occasionnal, will not be submitted to the formalities of the trust charter, quality charter, rating and satisfaction survey. Oresme could not be held responsible for the content of the advertisements for which the oresme student trainees sole responsibility is committed. In other respects, we would like to remind you that to subrent an accommodation, you need the agreement of the owner.

The contact service :

Its role is to put trainees in contact with each other. Only students registered at Oresme can have access to this service. The functioning principle of this service is the exchange : any student who fill in a registration form at Oresme commits himself automatically to be a possible “contact” for the other registered students over 2 years. This commitment consists of being possibly approached by another trainee and granting his information request (exchange of experiences and knowledge, helping on the spot, etc…). Collected information on registration forms are processed and used to feed students’ database, in order to deal with “getting in touch” requests. In return for his registration, the student will be given a personal account including a username and a password.
Each registered student can make a contact request on the website from his account . To do that he has to fill in the request form by giving some criteria and the search engine starts up a request matching the criteria. The student receives the request result in the form of a contact persons’ listing to whom he can send an e-mail through the website, Confidentiality remains respected by giving a username during the registration, it is with this name that contacts appear on the listing. Oresme will not be held responsible for the content of exchanges made between students following their putting in touch with each others. Oresme reserves the right to “remove” from the website any student whose behaviour is unacceptable.

The information service :

The information service purpose is to provide students with some useful information on their future training place. The list established by Oresme of shops, sport and leisure premises, restaurants, etc…was not meant to be extensive and was made according to a geographic and alphabetical order (and no order of preference). With their owners agreement, places mentioned in this way can be accompanied with pictures given by themselves or taken by Oresme while signing the agreement, and be put up to illustrate the named premises. The picture provided by the owner must be guaranteed as belonging to him and exempt from any royalties or copyright. For technical reasons, this picture must match the standards specified by Oresme : a jpg or jpeg or gif or png format, an 200 x 200 pixels size, a 500 ko maximum, and it can have a direct link with the web site with the consent of the concerned owner. In case of no compliance with the requested standards, the picture will not be displayed. The advertiser can provide a new picture or ask Oresme to take it. In that case, the picture freely carried out by Oresme will be in no way questioned (contrast quality, viewing angle, etc…). The choice of ad and picture place in the information service is at the sole discretion of Oresme. Oresme reserves the right to refuse any advertiser on its advertising space that would be considered as incompatible with its activity or likely to cause complaints from third parties. Although it makes every effort, as much as it can to check the accuracy of displayed information, Oresme would not be held responsible for mistakes or omissions that could be in the ad.
Oresme would not be held responsible for the content, products, ads or all elements or services coming from the links towards other websites it offers or during the routing.
However, Oresme reserves the right to remove them in case of incompatibility with its activity or possibilities to cause complaints from third parties.

Personal accounts :

Each student registered at Oresme and each landlord subscriber owns a personal account that he can have access with a password. Each user is responsible for his password protection. It is up to him to implement precautionary and safety measures necessary to its protection. Oresme will not be held responsible for its fraudulent use.

Maintenance and techniques :

Oresme’s website is accessible 24h/24 and 7 days a week subject to periods of maintenance and case of force majeure. Oresme is under an obligation of means and would not be held responsible for the consequences of services break for reasons beyond its control. Oresme reserves the right to modify as it wishes the terms and conditions, that everybody is invited to read regularly.

Patent rights :

All the elements of this website together with the website in itself are subject to the French and International laws concerning royalties and patent rights. The website and its elements are Oresme property. It is strictly forbidden to copy it in its present form or in another one, to appropriate totally or partially its content without the express authorization of Oresme.
Website users commit themselves to use it for their own use. They can not use it for commercial purposes of any kind. They can not modify or appropriate the content, the codes or the database without the prior and express authorization of Oresme.

IT and liberties law (law N°78-17 of 6th January 1978) :

Students, advertisers, landlords have the right to have access, to rectify and to remove the data which are in Oresme files, as far as they are concerned. To assert this right all they have to do is to contact Oresme at chemin de Pierrefeu, 26400 Crest France.
