The contact service :

Its role is to put students in contact with each others. The functioning principle of this service is the exchange : any student who fills in a registration form at Oresme commits himself to be possibly approached by another student and granting his information request (exchange of experiences and knowledge, helping on the spot, etc…). From his account, the student fills in the contact request form and the search engine starts up a request matching the requested criteria. The student receives the request result in the form of a contact persons’ listing to whom he can either send directly an e-mail through the website. Considering the 2 years of commitment to be a “contact”, students are classified in 3 categories : the “co-trainees” or “co” who are going to the same place at the same time, the “ex-trainees” or “ex” who have been in the same place or in the same company during a previous work experience, and the “contacts on the spot” or “cos” who are students living on the spot. Confidentiality remains respected by the giving of a username during the registration, it is with this name that contacts appear on the listing.

The housing help service :

Its role is to put students in touch with furnished flat owners, that is to say landlords. Students fill in an accommodation search form. Then, Oresme’s search engine meets their request by matching their criteria with those of accommodations' ads of which Oresme ensures the display. The choice of furnished flat comes from private owners. These accommodations are qualified and rated (1 to 5 stars) according to the criteria established in the Oresme Quality Charter in accordance with the landlords concerned, in order to make the search easier for students. Students can consult the descriptive sheet of each accommodation from the displayed listing they received in reply to their request, as well as the vacancies calendar. Once the student made his choice, he gets in touch with the landlord by phone, e-mail or routing, according to the recommended mode. While signing his tenancy agreement, the student also signs the Oresme Trust Charter together with his landlord. At the end of his stay, the student sends back to Oresme the satisfaction survey.The Oresme student trainees can also display their own accommodation offer : They can use for free the landlord registration form by mentioning in the field “special feature” the words “ORESME STUDENT MEMBER’S OFFER” and by using the e-mail address given for their registration as a student. Their ad, being occasionnal, will not be submitted to the formalities of the trust charter, quality charter, rating and satisfaction survey. Oresme could not be held responsible for the content of the advertisements for which the oresme student trainees sole responsibility is committed. In other respects, we would like to remind you that to subrent an accommodation, you need the agreement of the owner.

The information service :

The information service purpose is to provide students with some practical information on their future training place. The student can start up a search on organizations’ site in given place, based on geographical or activity sector criteria (shops, sport, restaurants, etc…). Their request result appears in the form of addresses’ listing made according to a geographic and alphabetical order with the sole will to make the searches and integration in the training place easier for students. With their owners’ agreement, places mentioned in this way can be accompanied with pictures given by themselves or taken by Oresme, and with or without a direct link to the concerned organization’s website.
